WELCOME TO THE MVHS SAFE HOME PROGRAM
SAFE HOME PROGRAM
SAFE HOMES is a parent pledge program designed to help create a safe environment for children. On of its key missions is to raise awareness about alcohol and other drug and substance abuse among young people, and to encourage parents to join together in addressing the problem. Rather than worrying alone, parents can unite to do something positive and proactive.
In the 2000-2001 school year, Mission Viejo High School joined hundreds of schools across America to form a Community of Concern, which is a partnership of parents, students and schools working together to encourage the prevention of alcohol and other drug use. Each family received a booklet, A Parent’s Guide for the Prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Use, to facilitate their discussions regarding this very important issue. Additional copies of this guide are available to parents upon request.
